Installation steps overview
This CarPlay system is designed for plug and play fitment, no modification of wires or drilling is required for this CarPlay kit. Installation for the A3 CarPlay kit requires temporary removal of the multimedia unit (release keys included in the kit) and the glove box (8 bolts to remove). Then plug in our wiring behind the multimedia unit and locate the Unique Auto Developments CarPlay interface box above the glove box. A microphone needs to be installed to avoid conflict with factory mic.

1. My Audi has MMI fitted. Will this kit fit my car?
This fits all versions of the 8V A3 with either 5.8″ or 7″ screen with factory MMI or MMI plus.
2. My car has AMI (Audi Music Interface). Will this fit my car?
Yes, it will fit all Audi 8V A3 models with or without AMI.
3. Will I have to change my original car screen or make wiring modifications?
This kit allows you to retain the factory fitted display screen in your car, and all wiring is plug and play, so no cutting wires etc.
4. Will sound come out of my Audi radio?
Yes, this unit will allow music playback, and all sounds to be emitted through the car speakers, simply switch the Audi radio to ‘AUX’ source mode for playback.
5. How do I plug in my iPhone?
Our kit has its own dedicated USB port – simply route this to a location of your preference, and plug in a genuine Apple lightning cable to attach your phone.
With the wireless kit, you can also connect via Bluetooth or the USB port included.
